collects, uses, stores, and discloses information in connection with the ThingsBoard IoT Hub
(the "IoT Hub"). By accessing or using the IoT Hub, you agree to the practices described in
this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the IoT Hub.
2. Information We Collect
When you register or interact with the IoT Hub, we may collect the following types of data:

Account Information: Your name, display name or username, email address, and login
credentials created during registration.

Organization Information: Your company or organization name, if you are submitting
Contributions on behalf of an entity.

Contribution Metadata: Title, description, tags, categorization, authorship
attribution, submission timestamps, and version history associated with any Contribution
you publish.

Usage Data: IP address, approximate geographic location, browser type, operating
system, device identifiers, pages viewed, download activity, and search queries collected
automatically when you access the IoT Hub.

Communications: The content of any messages you send us for support or other
inquiries, along with your contact details.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information collected for the following purposes:

Platform Operation: To provide, maintain, and improve the IoT Hub, including
processing Contributions and enabling downloads.

Attribution: To credit you as the Author of your Contributions, consistent with the
MIT License and the IoT Hub Terms of Use.

Access Control & Security: To authenticate users, detect malicious code or policy
violations, and enforce the Terms of Use.

Communication: To notify you about updates to your Contributions, policy changes,
or responses to your inquiries.

Analytics: To understand usage patterns and improve platform features and
searchability.

Legal Compliance: To comply with applicable laws, respond to lawful requests, and
enforce our agreements.
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We may share your information only in the following circumstances:

Public Contributions: Contributions you publish on the IoT Hub, including their
metadata and authorship attribution, are publicly accessible by all users of the IoT Hub
and the ThingsBoard platform. Do not include personal or sensitive information within the
content of your Contributions.

Service Providers: We may share information with trusted third-party providers who
assist us in operating the IoT Hub (e.g., hosting, analytics, security). These providers
are contractually obligated to process data only on our behalf and in accordance with this
Privacy Policy.

Legal Compliance: If required by law, regulation, or legal process, or to protect
the rights, property, or safety of ThingsBoard, Inc., its users, or the public.

Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your
information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you via the
email address associated with your account prior to any such transfer.
5. Irrevocability of Published Contributions
Consistent with the IoT Hub Terms of Use, the license granted over a published Contribution
is irrevocable. Metadata and authorship attribution associated with a Contribution that has
already been downloaded or implemented by other users will remain accessible even after you
remove the Contribution from the IoT Hub. ThingsBoard, Inc. cannot retroactively withdraw
publicly available information that has already been accessed or cached by users or
third-party systems.
6. Data Retention & Deletion

Retention: We retain your personal information for as long as your account remains
active or as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Privacy Policy.
Contribution metadata and authorship records are retained indefinitely to preserve the
integrity of the MIT License attribution chain.

Account Deletion: You may request deletion of your account at any time. Upon
deletion, we will remove or anonymize your personal account data within a reasonable time,
subject to legal retention obligations and the irrevocability provisions described above.
7. Security
ThingsBoard, Inc. implements reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your
information against unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. However, no method of transmission
over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute
security.
8. Children's Privacy
The IoT Hub is not directed to individuals under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect
personal information from children. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such
information, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.
9. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or
restrict processing of your personal information, or to request a portable copy of your data.

after any such changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
